Festivities

The peach will drop tonight as the clock strikes twelve and God is saying it is going to be a great year in 2009. To those who are in pursuit of God,its going to be a fabulous year full of signs and wonders.
Jesus asked would He find any faith when He returned. Well I have to tell you at The Church at Covington we are practicing our faith daily. We have decided to bring up praise, worship, and petitions to the most high God daily. We have a group of dedicated individuals that have decided to follow after the key of King David and we believe 2009 is going to be full of the awesome presence of God. We are after the one thing. One thing we desire of the Lord, That will we seek: That we may dwell in the house of the Lord forever, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. Below is an excerpt of Prophet Kim Clement prophecy on December 14th 2008.
Because He has said tonight I speak of keys, the key of David that has been given to a generation. It has already been granted and sent forth. To do what? To unlock the mysteries of the holy Scriptures, to unlock and unveil the mysteries that Daniel spoke about, that John on the Isle of Patmos spoke about. These mysteries are about to be revealed to bring great treasures into the kingdom of God and into the earth, says the Lord Most High. The key of David to unlock that which has been kept back from mankind, God said, tonight I desire to hear the sound of surrender from my people, and if you would do that, not only you but the thousands that are watching and will watch, this prophet is telling you: That God wants you to enter into the New Year shaking off every past throttle, every past stronghold, shake it off, so that you may enter into a time of festivity. For God says in 2009 it shall be known as a year of festivities. Why? Because I'm setting a table before you, I'm setting a table before your enemies, I'm setting a table that you will eat from. And God says in the presence of your enemies I will set a table for you to feast on and they shall say "it has not been as the prognosticators have said, but we have prospered and we have entered in with victory and vigor!"
I believe as Kim that 2009 is going to be full of those kind of stories and you will hear them say; "This has never happened before". We will see miracles happen from finances to diseases being healed. Its going to be a time of festivities lead by the people that have entered into His presence and live on the fullness of Him. Go today and shake off the past and get ready for your bright future.

A Psalm of David

I want to pray the 23 Psalm over you today.

The LORD is your shepherd, you shall not be in want. He makes you lie down in green pastures, He leads you beside quiet waters, He restores your soul. He guides you in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil, for He is with you; His rod and His staff, they comfort you. He prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies. He anoints your head with oil; your cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow you all the days of your life, and you will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

The Cost

I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure: which is: Try to please everybody. Herbert Swope

It is important to follow your heart. Jesus said before you make any venture you must count the cost. One thing you must consider is if you can overcome the opinions of other people. You must know your Fathers voice and be able to stand behind the decisions you make. If the Lord is giving you direction, then make the move and count on Him.

Prayer

Luke 6:12-16 (The Message)
The Twelve Apostles 12-16At about that same time he climbed a mountain to pray. He was there all night in prayer before God. The next day he summoned his disciples; from them he selected twelve he designated as apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, Andrew, his brother, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James, son of Alphaeus, Simon, called the Zealot, Judas, son of James, Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Its amazing how difficult it can be to get people together to pray for one hour much less one night. Jesus, the Son of God, who was in the beginning and the end, who is the word made flesh, and whom dwelt among us, who is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, found it necessary to go to a place and pray. Notice it doesn't say he went and prayed for thirty minutes to one hour because He had things He needed to take care of. No! He prayed all night long, knowing that His Father's will was more important than the cares of this world. He knew He had a big decision to make in picking the twelve Apostles.

O.K. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. If Jesus Christ thought it was important to pray before a decision is made in His life, Who do we think we are to think that we only need to pray for five minutes a day or maybe even over our meals. No, no, no! We need intimacy with God.

Intimacy comes from Intercessary prayer. Intercession is intimate partnership and agreement with God—it is intimacy. Wow, to be intimate with God. Prayer is an exchange of romance. God speaks to us and it moves our hearts. When we speak back to God, His heart is moved. God desires to establish or deepen this romantic relationship with us. He desires intimacy with us. He wants us to know His heart and more so, to feel the very emotions of His heart, and then He wants to hear us cry out for the longings of His heart to come to pass. His longings become our longings. It’s partnership at the most intimate level possible.

Follow the example of Jesus.

Prayer is crucial!

Prayer

"If I fail to spend two hours in prayer each morning,
the devil gets the victory through the day.
I have so much business I cannot get on
without spending three hours daily in prayer".
Martin Luther

Make prayer apart of your daily activities; morning , noon, and night. You will be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever you do shall prosper.

Parable on Prayer

1Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
2saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
3"There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'
4"For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
5yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"
6And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said;
7now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
8"I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:1-9 (New American Standard Bible)

I often wonder the same thing. Will the Son of Man find faith when He comes? It seems at times to be very difficult to get people to pray regularly. Maybe it is like Jesus said, the cares of the world choke out the word. You know, we are busy with family, work, self fulfilling desires. I understand why He poses this question. To have a strong prayer life one has to be dedicated, determined, and willing. It takes a lot of work & time, but as you can see from the widow, it pays off. How about giving the Lord a chance to show Himself strong and powerful in your life. Start a routine of prayer today.

The Pursuit Of Excellence

The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence,
regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.
Vince Lombardi

Jesus said that He came that you may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) (a quality life). Vince Lombardi caught the vision of excellence and determined that you cant sit around and accept mediocrity and expect to have a quality, abundant life. You must press toward the mark of excellence to be really fulfilled in life. You can accomplish this without destroying or hurting others. Take the time to explain to them that you are going to pursue excellence and you expect them to do the same. If they can't preform and meet your expectation, take them under your wing and train them without lowering your standard. Isn't that what our Savior did?

The Pursuit Of Excellence

Daniel 6

Darius reorganized his kingdom. He appointed one hundred twenty governors to administer all the parts of his realm. Over them were three vice-regents, one of whom was Daniel. The governors reported to the vice-regents, who made sure that everything was in order for the king. But Daniel, brimming with spirit and intelligence, so completely outclassed the other vice-regents and governors that the king decided to put him in charge of the whole kingdom. Daniel 6:1-3 The Message

In the previous chapter of Daniel, King Belshazzar was slain and Darius became the king. Darius decided to reorganize his kingdom. That was expected because most leaders that come in to that type of situation, where they take over from a previous administration, will have to make changes to people in the existing administration. Darius placed people that would be loyal to him and that had the same vision as he did so that unity prevails.

I really want to focus on Daniel. He served Belshazzar's father as the chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldean's, and soothsayers. Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas was found in him. Today, they would say Daniel was involved with witchcraft, but we will talk about that subject later. Once he interpreted Belshazzar's writing on the wall, he placed Daniel third in charge of his kingdom which ended that night.

When Darius became king, he kept Daniel in that position, Why? Because he had a spirit of excellence upon him. Look what the NKJ says in Daniel 6:3; Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.

That's what I want to pray over you today, that you would have a spirit of excellence upon you which will give you favor in the land. Lord place an excellent spirit within them right now, I speak life to excellence in them today, I say they will have an excellent spirit in them. I bind up confusion in their hearts and speak clarity to their life. I speak confusion to mediocrity, mediocrity will not reign in our life, mediocrity will not have unity or vision in our lives and it will die because of confusion causing it to loose footing and lack of communication. We will walk in a spirit of excellence today, In Jesus Christ Name.

Amen

The Pursuit Of Excellence

I believe God wants us to do all things in excellence. Never except mediocrity as the benchmark. God expects us to give our best to Him and too everything we do. Jesus was the completion of the promise and God did not short change us on that. He went all out, his excellence speaks for itself. If you want to follow someones example of excellence, choose Jesus Christ. He is the most excellent way. So keep striving for excellence, don't settle for less. If the things around you look dim then you must be the light, you must set the standard of excellence. Don't quit and never give up. Keep running the race that He has set before you and you will be a winner. And you will have done this in excellence.

Psalm 24:7-10

Wake up, you sleepyhead city!
Wake up, you sleepyhead people!
King-Glory is ready to enter.
Who is this King-Glory?
God, armed and battle-ready.
Wake up, you sleepyhead city!
Wake up, you sleepyhead people!
King-Glory is ready to enter.
Who is this King-Glory?
God-of-the-Angel-Armies:
He is King-Glory.
Today, remind yourself who your King of Glory is. Lift up your spirits, it will work out for your good. The thing that has come against you will only make you stronger and launch you into victory. Wake up, and see the blessings you already have around you. Wake up, and realize you have the victory. Why? Because Christ is in you and that is all you need. "Who is this King of Glory?" "The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the Lord of hosts, commander over heaven's armies, eternal, holy, mighty," proclaiming His great power and strength. This King of Glory is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Wake up, this King lives and abides in you.

The First Noel

The First Noel, the Angels did say

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay

In fields where they lay keeping their sheep

On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

They looked up and saw a star

Shining in the East beyond them far

And to the earth it gave great light

And so it continued both day and night.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

And by the light of that same star

Three Wise men came from country far

To seek for a King was their intent

And to follow the star wherever it went.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

This star drew nigh to the northwest

Over Bethlehem it took its rest

And there it did both Pause and stay

Right over the place where Jesus lay.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

Then entered in those Wise men three

Fell reverently upon their knee

And offered there in His presence

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

Then let us all with one accord

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord

That hath made Heaven and earth of nought

And with his blood mankind has bought.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel!

Pray

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go somewhere to pray. He would also separate Himself from the crowds during the day to pray. Even though Jesus was the Son of God, the word that became flesh and dwelt among us, the one who walked in the full power of the Almighty, even though He was all of this He still had to get away and pray. Does this raise any thoughts in your mind that this could be very crucial to a successful journey with the Lord.

I truly believe the bigger your task is in life the more you need to pray. The amount of time you spend in prayer should equal to the amount of responsibility you have at a minimum. This is one way you can strengthen your spirit so that you can stand strong and mighty in the Lord.

I also believe God is calling His people back to a house of worship and prayer. In today's economy and other challenges we face in the world it is vital you have a strong prayer life. I know some how, some way, everything will work out for our good. His word says the righteous have never been forsaken or his seed begging for bread. Its all good.

Do you feel like you are loosing the battle? Pray! Do you feel you are loosing control of your kids? Pray! Is your family falling apart? Pray! Is your business or the company you work for loosing money? Pray! Pray! Pray!

Follow the example of Jesus. If He needed to pray, how much more do we need to pray? Just commit to it. Just do it.

"All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word (good news) that was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:24,25
The only thing that withstands the test of time is the word of God. His word is good news. His word tells me the kingdom of God is at hand, I am redeemed from the curse of the law, He has translated me from darkness into His marvelous light, He has grafted me into Abraham's blessings, that I have access to the throne of God through His blood, I can walk in divine health, and so much more.
Yes, that is good news. Today give thanks and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is our mediator between us and God.
Praise the Lord today!

Jesus the Lamb of God

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel." Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God." John 1:29-34 NIV

In The Beginning

1IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
2He was present originally with God.
3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
5And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
6There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him.
8He was not the Light himself, but came that he might bear witness regarding the Light.
9There it was--the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person.
10He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him].
11He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him.
12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name
13Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]
14And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. John 1:1-14 Amplified

Today, seek the Lord and His Strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, his Chosen Ones!

Today, remember He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,” When you were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it

Today, Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.

Today, Praise the Lord, For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.

Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and gladness are in His place.

Today, Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the LORD glory and strength.
Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved.

Today, Speak to the wind and all the nations. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.”
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the LORD, For He is coming to judge the earth.

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting!

Today, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Today, call upon His name; Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Tell everyone you come into contact with of His wondrous works!

Today, glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the lord!

God Is Investing In Your Life

In the name of Jesus, I confess with the Psalmist David that I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging for bread.

Father, Thank You for food, clothing and shelter. In the name of Jesus, I have stopped being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about my life, what I shall eat and what I shall drink; or about my body, what I shall put on. My life is greater (in quality) than food, and the body (far above and more excellent) than clothing.

The bread of idleness (gossip, discontent and self-pity) I will not eat. It is you, Father, who will liberally supply (fill to the full) my every need according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

In the name of Jesus, I shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Your words were found, and I did eat them, and Your Word was to me a joy and rejoicing of my heart.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus, You are the Bread of life, the Living Bread.

Thank You, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, for spiritual bread - manna from heaven.

Gods Extravagant Love For You

The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:14 (The Message)
Isn't that amazing? God is telling you today that He loves you. You have a special place in His heart and He wants you to know that today. Now go share some love!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (New International Version)
Be Blessed.
