Parable on Prayer

1Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
2saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
3"There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'
4"For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
5yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"
6And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said;
7now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
8"I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:1-9 (New American Standard Bible)

I often wonder the same thing. Will the Son of Man find faith when He comes? It seems at times to be very difficult to get people to pray regularly. Maybe it is like Jesus said, the cares of the world choke out the word. You know, we are busy with family, work, self fulfilling desires. I understand why He poses this question. To have a strong prayer life one has to be dedicated, determined, and willing. It takes a lot of work & time, but as you can see from the widow, it pays off. How about giving the Lord a chance to show Himself strong and powerful in your life. Start a routine of prayer today.

all i can say is, Amen Brother... My prayer for the Body of Christ is that we recieve an increased hunger and desire for the deeper things. Did you know that Amen actually means "let it be"? Lord, give revelation of the POWER and AUTHORITY that we have in Christ, AMEN!!!! If we can grasp that then why we can understand the impact that our prayers have and why would we not want to spend time rending the Heavens and Earth; what a privilege!! Father, open our eyes and ears, Amen and Amen...
