The Good News of Salvation

Isaiah 61

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,

Because the LORD has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Yes! Now, I believe this is the work that God speaks of, that we are expected to perform. We know that "it's impossible to please God without faith"; but..."faith without works is dead"! We should be about the Father's business everday; looking for these opportunities to sow into the kingdom. Our works will be judged:/ Therefore, we should pray that God create in us a pure heart. After all, God looks not at the outward appearence but the heart. What's our motivation in what we do? What do you think our motivation should be Pastor J.?

Like you said, God does not look at the outward things but He looks at the heart. With that said I believe if you follow your heart and you are submitted to the Lord you can’t go wrong. The problem is people are so scared of making a mistake that they do nothing. Therefore they sit in stagnate waters and they start to stinkith. The word says to the pure all things are pure. Go ahead and exercise your faith and follow your heart, trust in Him and He will direct your path.
