Smoke & Mirrors

2 Peter 2:17-19 (The Message)

There's nothing to these people—they're dried-up fountains, storm-scattered clouds, headed for a black hole in hell. They are loudmouths, full of hot air, but still they're dangerous. Men and women who have recently escaped from a deviant life are most susceptible to their brand of seduction. They promise these newcomers freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, for if they're addicted to corruption—and they are—they're enslaved.

Do not get entangled with they're deception, they will lead you astray with smoke & mirrors. It will look one way but turn out another. They will boast about all the great things that have been done but they are full of hot air. Do not return to Egypt in your old nature, its to easy. You were delivered from being a slave to sin, you have been set free by the blood of the Lamb of God. Now walk in that fullness, that power that Jesus gave you.

Peace

Wow! I don't know that I've ever read this passage before, or maybe I've just never read this particular translation. This is an amazing word, and like always, hitting a soft spot for me. Thanks for the word! "work out your own salvation, with fear and trembling", has been ringing clear in my spirit...Confirmation!
